Back To Blogging!

Hello Lovlies! I am very sorry for my recent absence, this past week a family member had passed away suddenly and being with my family was very important during this time. Therefore I thank you very much for your continued support as I get back on track. In the upcoming weeks I hope to post a couple more reviews of some products I have been trying out, plus I will be attending the Premiere Beauty Classic Show again this year so look forward to some convention pictures and maybe a little haul!

Makeup Review: Essence Multi Action Blackest Black Mascara

Lately I have been looking for a new mascara to try out and of course, Essence has come to my rescue with yet again another great mascara for the picking!

Essence Multi Action Blackest Black Mascara

Personally, I believe I found another gem hidden amongst the essence offerings and this time around it is another great mascara! From looking at the generic brush, you wouldn't expect it to be anything special, but this mascara can prove that statement wrong in the flick of a wrist!

This mascara packs a fairly powerful punch thanks to these attributes:
  • Provides a small amount of added length, just enough to give a bit more umph and up its game.
  • Zero clumping, so there is no need for a lash comb! One extra step not needed!
  • Seperates lashes so there aren't any large clumps of lashes
  • Volumizes
  • Blackens fair lashes
Although this mascara doesn't thicken lashes or give me the false-lash effect, I appreciate that it does what it needs to without any issues. In other words, It does what I want it to do, (maybe not all things I do, but most of them) and does nothing I don't want it to do.

The Stats:
 - Provides super black color (read, those with very light colored eyelashes will love this!)
 - Formula isn't too wet, but not dry (leans more wet)
 - Separates lashes while easily coating them with color
 - Comes in Blackest Black or Waterproof
 - Retails for $3.99 at Ulta
 - Attractive, trendy matte black packaging

Have you tried out any new mascaras lately?

Makeup Review: Too Faced Full Bloom Cheek & Lip Creme Color

It may be nearing the start of fall, but that doesn't mean our cheeks can't scream "Spring!" right? Well my cheeks certainly are with the Too Faced Full Bloom Lip & Cheek Creme in Sweet Pea.

Too Faced Full Bloom Lip & Cheek Creme in Sweet Pea
Just looking at the flowery box makes me want to go out and buy a bouquet of flowers and feel the warmth of sun on my face! Plus, this poppy pink color really livens up my pale complexion with a nice pop of pink color that works with almost any eyeshadows or lip colors. Which, speaking of lip colors this can be used as one! Just a dab on the finger is the perfect amount to stain the lips and a bit more gives lips a full coverage glossy pink look.

Too Faced Full Bloom Cheek and Lip Creme sheared out
Oh and one more thing, this creme is super pigmented, so applying with a duo fiber brush like the Sigma F50 is a must! Plus, due to the high pigmentation, this little compact will last me forever and a day and I will probably still have it around long after it is discontinued, so the value for the money is insane! Add in the fact that it can be used as both a lip and cheek product and you may want to go grab one as soon as you are done reading this! However, for those you who are not a fan of creme formulas and prefer powder blushes, each of the three shades available have a coordination powder blush that is equally as pigmented so if you find yourself wanting a powder instead, try out the Too Faced Full Bloom Powder Blush.

The Stats:
 - Large mirror for on-the-go application
 - Classy packaging showing the color on the clear bottom
 - Super pigmented! (read: use a duo-fiber brush for light application)
 - Very creamy and nonsticky so the smallest amount goes a very long way
 - Can be used on both cheeks and lips
 - best when used with a lip balm on lips
 - lasts all day on cheeks and when used heavily on the lips, wears down to a beautiful stain
 - Comes in 3 shades (coral, raspberry pink, and a muted rose beige) with coordinating powder blushes
 - Retails at $21.00 and can be found at Ulta, Sephora, and Apothica.com

EOTD: It's Raining Rainbows!

Since the weather has been a bit dreary lately I decided what better time than now for one last fun, summer eye tutorial!?!? So for those of you looking to create something a bit more complicated and colorful than the everyday, keep scrolling! And of course, you don't have to use the same colors and products I used in this tutorial, so I encourage you to use whatever products you have on hand!

What I used:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Purple- Lid shade from Revlon's Colorstay Eyeshadow Quad in Seductive
Blue- Urban Decay Crystal
Green- Accentuating green shade from Revlon's Colorstay Quad in Inspired
Yellow- LORAC Negligee and Urban Decay Midnight Cowgirl
Orange- E.L.F. Blush from the Blushing and Bronzing Duo
Pink- Too Faced To Go III
Highlight- Highlight shade from Revlon's Colorstay Quad in Inspired
Brows- Urban Decay Naked
Eyeliner- Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight In Paris
Mascara- NYX La Amoureax

Other Products used:
Revlon Photoready Primer
Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam in Porcelain Ivory
Revlon Photoready Eye Primer and Brightener
theBalm TimeBalm Concealer in Lighter Than Light
NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Powder in Sunny
Essence Silky Touch Blush in Adorable

Start with a clean, prepped and primed eye. I also recommend starting without any concealer of face makeup under the eyes as sometimes the colors have a bit of fall-out and no one wants their perfect concealer job messed up with sparkly green and orange pigments!

Add a shimmery pale purple color to your inner corner, I choose to use the lid color from the Revlon Colorstay Quad in Seductive.

Then add a shimmery pale blue like Crystal from the Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV right alongside the purple, basically creating a vertical stripe of blue just beside the inner-corner color.

Add in a stripe of pale green next to the blue like the one in the Revlon Colorstay Quad in Inspired.

Next to the green stripe, place a stripe of bright yellow eyeshadow. Since I naturally don't have a bright yellow eyeshadow on hand, I first placed LORAC's Negligee Eyeshadow in a stripe next to the green and then went over it with Urban Decay's Midnight Cowgirl to add more yellow tones and sparkle.

After the yellow has been laid down, add in a short stripe of orange or peach shadow near the outer corner. Since I was improvising during this look I ended up using a touch of blush from the e.l.f. Studio Contouring Blushing and Bronzing Duo.

On the very outer-corner, add a bright, yet pale pink eyeshadow like the one I found in the Too Faced To Go III.

To top it all off I used the highlight shade from Revlon's Colorstay Quad in Inspired on my brow bone with a fluffy blending brush to help lightly blend out any harsh lines, filled in my brows with Urban Decay Naked, used Essence gel eyeliner in Midnight In Paris along the upper lashline, and used two coats of NYX La Amoureax Mascara.

The Final Look

Mini Ulta Haul!

Hello Beauties! Hope you are all having a good Saturday! Unfortunately for me it is a bit overcast right now with intermittent rain showers, but have no fear, Ulta is here to bring us cheer! I did a little bit of shopping since I got a $5.00 off coupon from a magazine and you know it would a waste to not use it right? So here's what I got on my short shopping trip at Ulta!

Top: NYX La Amoureux    Middle: Essence Stay All Day Long Lasting
Eyeshadow in 02 Glammy Goes Too...  and Essence Mattifying
Compact Powder in Translucent
  Bottom: Essence Gel Eyeliner Brush

Swatches Left to Right: NYX La Amoureux Mascara, Essence Mattifying
Compact Powder in Translucent
, and Essence Stay All Day Eyeshadow
in Glammy Goes Too...

Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris (Not Pictured) swatched using
the Essence Gel Eyeliner Brush with pressure (top) and little pressure (bottom,)

Yes, I finally got my first NYX product! And so far.... it is just okay. Not as spectacular as I was hoping for, but we will get back to that in the review coming soon. As always, though I am impressed with the Essence products seeing as I made one repurchase (Essence Mattifying Compact Powder in Translucent) since I am nearly out of it! And the gel eyeliner brush to go along with another essence favorite of mine, Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris, as well as one of their Stay All Day Eyeshadows since I have been a bit curious about them for a while now.

Have you picked up any new beauty goodies lately?

Oh and on another note, I will be going to the Premiere Beauty Show in Columbus, Ohio again this year on October 8th, so be expecting some more convention pictures and a haul!

My Experience with SkinCareRx, Apothica, and SkinBotanica.com

A couple of months ago I was given the opportunity to partner with Fringe Media, the company that owns SkinCareRx, Apothica, and SkinBotanica to bring you a great giveaway sponsored by them to spread the cheer about the new partnership. To be completely clear and honest about the partnership, I was given a credit to use towards products on any of their sites and I thought I would share my own experience with the company first hand.

I have heard a few different things about the company in regaurds to how long shipping and getting orders together is concerned, however my order only took 1 day to fill and 3 days to ship to me. Therefore, I think that their shipping is quite reasonable.

When I received my package, I found both of the products I ordered, Too Faced Full Bloom Lip & Cheek Creme and theBalm Time Balm Concealer, in perfect new condition, plus they included two small moisturizer samples with my order as well. (On a side note of these samples, they looked to be about 1-2 uses each and I had a VERY bad allergic reaction to the first one I used so I decided not to use the other one, that will be the last time I put a product on my face without a test patch!)

Not once did I feel like the company short-handed me or weren't cooperative. I did have a small issue before I was able to order with the eGift Card code I was sent that did not match the amount it was supposed to be, but the customer service representatives were able to work it out and send me a new code to use within just a few hours of sending off my eMail. My only hang-up with the company is that certain brands can not be purchased using an eGift Card and usually special offers and codes also do not apply to those brands as well as not being able to be combined with eGift Cards. So if you want to use an eGift Card, you won't be eligible to use any special codes or offers on your order.

Overall, I had a good experience with this company and although there were a few minor hang-ups, I appreciated their great customer service and generosity to help bring you my first-hand experience with them.

Have you ordered from any specialty beauty or skincare sites recently?
Tell me your experience down below!

August Favorites!

Hello Lovelies! Sorry for the lack of posting lately, it has been a little hectic lately, but soon I should be posting as normal again! So without further adieu, here are some of my August Favorites!

Makeup
Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam in 110 Porcelain Ivory
Because I just started school I started using this foundation more as a quick go-to foundation in the morning. No fancy brushes or blending necessary, just one small golf-ball sized mousse ball on the back of my hand and my hands to smooth it over my face gets the job done in record time!

Essence Mattifying Compact Powder
During this summer I used this powder non-stop! I literally could not live without it! This powder keeps the oil and shine at-bay so I could have fun in the sun. And since I loved it so much this summer, I just recently had to go to Ulta (Mini-Haul coming soon!) to pick another up because I am just about out! I simply can not live without it a single day!

Urban Decay Naked2 Palette
Going on vacation to Disney World, I didn't want to lug around a ton of individual eyeshadows and quads, so this palette turned out to be my savior! It trooped on through the airport and not one single shadow shattered! Plus, It held every color I needed without colors I didn't need, just the Naked neutrals I require!

Urban Decay Single Eyeshadow in Naked
And because I am a freak about filling in my brows, Urban Decay's Naked has been my brow filler of choice! It has just the right warmth, and although it looks too light to accurately match my hair in the pan, it turns out just right when I place it on my brows.

Nails
Left to Right: Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel Base Coat, Indigo Blue, and Top Coat
Ever since I received these awsome polishes, I have not stopped wearing them! All three together create a super chip-resistant polish that lasts over 10 days for me! In fact, I'm actually wearing these on my fingers rights now! However, I do have a bit of bad news, my sister broke my top coat! Turns out after she works late she tends to be a bit clumsy and side-swiped my top coat sending it falling to the tile beneath it only to shatter to pieces. :(  But this just gives me more of a reason to go to my local drugstore to pick up another top coat and ogle at the other pretty Revlon polishes! :)

What were some of your August Favorites?
