Revlon is a well-known drugstore beauty brand, and as a high-quality affordable brand, they also encourage women to be empowered by their products and try daring looks to challenge the everyday. Whether it is a bold red lip, complexion perfection primers, or bright eyeshadows you are sure to find everything you need within the Revlon range. So get up and join the Revlon movement on Facebook by adding the Revlon Expression Experiment Application.

But if being empowered isn't enough, take a look at these great Revlon products to suit your every want and need!

Primers are a perfect way to start off your look, so try out the PhotoReady line of makeup primers for everything from their perfecting primer to color correcting to an eye brightener and primer in one. Personally after trying out the perfecting primer I think it is one of the better primers out there. I feel like my makeup stays-put longer and doesn't sweat off at easily in extreme heat. Plus, my makeup goes on much smoother with the help of this primer versus no primer at all. I also think the eye primer and brightener is completely worth it! For some people an eye primer and brightener is just another step to add to their routine, but I see it as neccesary especially because this product does a fantastic job at brightening my dark circles!

To keep your look on the bright side, try out Revlon's 16-hour Colorstay eye shadow quads. These super bright shades keep my eyeshadow looking fresh, fun, and flirty all day when used with a good primer. I also like that all of the shades differ a bit in reguards to how opaque they are, but all being on the more medium to sheer side. However, the one thing I would change is the inconsistency in texture of these shadows because I find that some of the shadows like the creamy highlight color in Inspired are super soft and smooth, comparable to high-end shadows, while a few others like the pale violet highlight shade in Seductive tend to be a bit grainy and have more fall-out. Even though the consistency isn't completely up to my liking, I do think that these shadows have great weartime with a primer and the color combo are ingenious from everday neautrals to the bright shadows shown above, the range is incredible!

Swatches Left to Right: Revlon Perfecting Primer, Revlon Eye Primer and Brightener, Revlon Colorstay eyeshadow quads in Inspired and Seductive

Swatches left to right: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire & Ice, Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart, and Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Sizzle

Lately I have been really into using lipstick since it is easier to apply than a balm in a tin when I am on the run, so I was super excited to try out the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks, especially because they have a great color selection including red lipstick like Fire & Ice as shown above. I personally love Fire & Ice because the color is a just right red for my skin tone thanks to the orangey undertones. Plus, and I found that this lipstick stayed for a seriously long time, even through snacking on popcorn  and sipping a fountain drink at the movies! Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters are also a great moisturizing alternative. For a while I have been wondering about the lip butters as sometimes, lip products can be hyped up a little much, but I definetly think this is worth it! I love the medium-sheer opacity that can be built up to a full finish. The color I tried out, Cherry Tart, looks like a bright red with silver shimmer in the tube, but comes out looking more like a shimmery hot pink on my pigmented lips, which I love! The Revlon Colorburst Lipglosses are also a fun unique product thanks to their fuzzy paddle applicator that sems a bit more sturdy than others I have tried. The color is also to die for, the sheer to medium colors all look great by themselves, or alone. My only issue with the gloss though is that it does tend to move towards the edges of my lips when it starts to wear off resulting in a ring of color around my lips, but a quick swipe of a fingeraround the edges lessens this problem.

I was super excited when I came across these new Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamels because what girl doesn't love a little nail polish? Being super excited about this new line, I couldn't wait to put these to the test! This bright blue polish, Indigo Night, looks great when paired with the lines coordinating base and top coat. Plus, this polish really does live up to the claims of 11 day wear, because after the twelfth day, my left index finger finally chipped. So I am very impressed with the wear time because even my favorite OPI polishes can't do that! So for those of you who have issues with chipped polish can finally get through a week without having to redo your polish multiple times!

Skincare Review: Evian Mineral Water Spray

I admit, sometimes I buy things just because I think it looks interesting and sometimes the product works out, and sometimes it doesn't, but this one is just PURELY Evian no matter which way you look at it.
Middle: Evian Mineral Water Spray 5 oz.
Sides: Evian Mineral Water Spray Duo To Go each 1.7 oz.
When a Sephora first came to my home town I never expected to find something like this in the skincare section. At first I wasn't sure what it was, but at least the fine print was able to clarify that it was a mineral water spray designed to moisturize the skin with a light mist and set makeup to help avoid a powdery look, which was something I needed being heavy-handed with the powder brush like I was when I first started out with makeup.

Since then I have religiously bought this spray as it was the first of its kind, but soon followed by MakeupForEver, Urban Decay, Kat Von D, and various drugstore brands. Some of these other brands have specialty sprays designed to control oil or other skin issues, but I prefer the simplicity of this spray, just pure Evian Mineral Water. No silicons, phosphates, or chemicals, just water and nitrogen to propel it. Thanks to the simple ingredients I feel like this spray easily moisturizes my face while keeping my makeup intact and setting it as it dries. It also feels amazingly cool when sprayed on a hot summer day.
Plus, I like the fact that it comes in various sizes including an extra large size 10oz and a travel duo 2x 1.75 oz. perfect to keep in a  purse or for traveling so no matter where I am I always have a bottle on hand!

The Stats:
 - 3 sizes to choose from 10 oz. 5oz. or 2 x 1.75 oz.
 - Just Nitrogen and Water
 - Simple Mist Spray
 - Sets Makeup
 - Lightly Moisturizes Skin

What do you think of makeup setting mists? Necessary staple or unnecessary step?

NOTD: White With O.P.I Silver Shatter

This week I was I wasn't feeling my normal brights, so I went for a clean, classic white nail with silver shatter to mix it up a bit!
White Nail Polish, O.P.I Silver Shatter and O.P.I Top Coat
For this look I didn't use a brand name white nail polish, but for those of you looking to get the same look, I would suggest O.P.I Alpine Snow, Essie Below The Belt, Sally Hansen X-Treme Wear in White On, or Sinful Colors Snow Me White. Wearing this nail combo somehow makes wearing white polish and shatter seem a whole lot more chic than either one alone, but that is my opinion. What do you think of this combination?

What's on your nails today?

Travel Time!

As I was packing up and getting ready to visit my sister this summer, I decided to take you through a little picture tour of how I pack my beauty products and what exactly I decided to pack.
Hair Products
Skincare and Bath Products

To keep it simple, I like to use clear gallon sized bags to pack all of my hair products and bath products because many of those tend to be liquid and gel products and no one ever wants their shower gel to get all over their clothes in their suitcase. The one exception to this was my Sexy Hair products because they were too large to fit into the bag. I also normally wouldn't pack all this much stuff in relation to hair products, but I may be doing a couple peoples' hair while I'm staying with my sister so I wanted to make sure I had absolutely everything I would need for every hair type from heat protectant to curling gel I've got it all!

Beauty Bags!
Products in my Navy Blue Medium/Large Beauty Bag
(yes, this all fits in it with room to spare!)
Everyday essential products in the small blue patterned bag

I really tried not to over pack in the makeup department, but I know I added just a few too many products and at last minute I decided to throw in a few LORAC eye shadows even though I knew I wouldn't need them I just felt an overwhelming sense to have as much makeup with me as would fit into my main makeup bag! To organize my makeup I used one medium/large makeup bag to put mostly everything I would need in it and a smaller makeup bag to put my daily essentials in so I can pack up all of my makeup ahead of time and still have my daily essentials easily on hand for the next few days only using those products and then I just toss the small makeup bag into my purse before I leave.
Products from the small pink and orange travel/skincare bag

I also included another small makeup bag filled with travel and skincare products because my sister and I intend on taking a few weekend trips and it is easier to keep this bag on hand when the moment strikes!

Target Beauty Bag!

It seems like the last Target Beauty Bag came and went last week and here we have another one! This time around I am a bit dissapointed because I found out that there are actually two variations of the bag and the one I got I received an Aveeno shampoo and conditioner sample instead of the Aveeno exfoliator (which I would rather have gotten) and I did not receive the Tresemme conditioner.

Garnier Fructis Color Shield Shampoo and Conditioner Sachet Sample- Even though I am not a fan of satchet samples, I did like this shampoo and conditioner sample since it still made my hair feel silky while protecting my colored hair and preserving my color.
Aveeno Living Color Shampoo and Conditioner Sachet Sample- This shampoo and conditioner sample left my hair with the same silkiness and moveability I craved while protecting my color which is always a plus!
TRESemme Split End Remedy Shampoo Mini- As I have already used this shampoo and its coordinating conditioner I thought this sample was great. The shampoo leaves my hair soft and silky while still thoroughly cleansing my scalp. Even though I have used this shampoo for an extended amount of time, I'm not sure if it really helps with split ends or not since that is not a major concern for my hair, but I think it is a really great shampoo.
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 70 Mini- Initially I thought this sample was going to be great. However, when I tested it, it just didn't live up to my expectations. On the tube it says it is a "dry touch" sunscreen and in reality it felt just like any other sunscreen I have tried. Plus, I thought the high SPF was a bit odd. I feel like this sample in general is nice, especially because of the great 1 ounce size, but for me I feel like this sunscreen is just like any other to me.
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter Card Sample- For a while now I have been interested in the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters, but there are a few mixed reviews in which some people say they are or are not pigmented, while others say they just feel oily on the lips. Personally, I like this sample even though it was just a single use sample, I did enjoy it. I liked the silky feel of it on my lips, like a gloss, yet convenient like a balm with the pigmentation of a medium to sheer lipstick. I may just be picking up a lip butter soon!

June Favorites!

Yep, it's that time again! This month I have lots to rave and fav about so let's get to it!

Makeup
Urban Decay Naked2 Palette with mini LipJunkie Lip Gloss
Once I got the Naked2 I haven't been able to stop using it! The colors in it are great when used together or on their own and even when used in combination with the original Naked Palette. Everything from a smokey eye to everyday neutrals in onw palette is exactly what I need, especially for traveling!
Bloom Cosmetics Sheer Colour Cream in Coy
I have been using this since the day I got it in the mail from Stephanie over at Beauty Soiree and I can't live without it! This peachy pink color is perfect for everyday and compliments any eye look for day or night.
Essence Mattifying Compact Powder in Translucent
Now that the temperature is rising I definetly needed a good go-to mattifying powder for the summer and this one foots the bill! This compact powder is great for everyday just to set my foundation and great for touchups when I am oily.
EOS Lip Sphere in Sweet Mint
Since it is summer I have been getting a little lazy with lip products and instead of layering on lipsticks and glosses, it is much easier and more low maintenance to just swipe on a layer of lip tint and a swipe of lip balm.
Left to Right: Benefit mini's in Posietint, High Beam, and Benetint
Lately I have been loving these mini's for summer since they stay put all day whether on lips or cheeks and the highlighter is perfect for excentuating a tan. Plus, these minis are super portable and perfect to throw in a bag and go!
