One Lovely Blog Award!

Just recently, Kenzie over at Pretty in Pink awarded me the One Lovely Blog Award and I couldn't be happier than to accept it! So a big thank you goes out to Kenzie for being so nice as to openly support me and my blog!

As with many of the awards,  this one requires me write down 7 random things about myself and nominate other worthy bloggers!

1.) I love watching Pretty Little Liars and The Vampire Diaries in bed on lazy days!
2.) I currently attend regular high school and a vocational school for Cosmetology.
3.) In makeup, I believe in quality over quantity, but that doesn't mean great quality can't come at affordable prices!
4.) Fall is my favorite time of year! Falling leaves, Halloween, and my birthday in the span of one season!
5.) I currently volunteer at a charity haunted house year round from construction, to makeup and hair, to the scary acting, I do it all! (I may have mentioned this before)
6.) My dream job someday is to either be an esthetician or a well-known makeup artist.
7.) I'm a blogger! But I guess if you are reading this then you have already figured that one out!

Okay, so the last one there was kind-of a cheat, but hey, no one said I couldn't put that down as a random fact! Now on to the nominations!

Good luck on your future blogging endeavors to those of you awarded!

Makeup Review: Urban Decay Naked2 Palette

Yes, I finally got the Naked2 because who wouldn't love to get naked with Urban Decay a second time? Knowing that I already loved the first palette made me have some high expectations for this palette, but I must say, this palette is exceptionally done just like the first one, and despite some others' thoughts, these two palettes are much more different than they seem!

Urban Decay Naked2 Palette along with bonus mini Lip Junkie Ligloss in Naked

Starting off with packaging, there is a sizable improvement! the Naked2 Palette is made of sleek taupe metal with embossed grey-brown letter with a hinged closure for good measure. Much unlike that of the original Naked Palette made of chocolaty colored suede with gold foiled lettering and a magnetic closure. I much prefer the packaging of this one because I feel like the hinged closure is much more secure without being a hassle or too hard to open unlike the magnetic one of the original which can easily open and close if left loose in a bag. I also like the sleeker overall packaging and their choice to go with metal instead of the suede because the original's suede tends to attach to any dirt and dust which makes the palette look chronically dirty whereas the Naked2 can easily be wiped down with a cloth. I also find that the gold lettering on the original has started to wear off due to constant use and from friction of bags when traveling (and I have only had mine for just over a year!). Plus, the mirror in the Naked2 is huge and takes up the entire length of the palette compared to the smaller one in the original which really does make me more likely to bring this palette with me when I need to quickly change up my look.

Crease/Blending Brush
Shadow/Shader Brush

I also love the fact that Urban Decay added the crease/blending brush on the other end of their eye shading brush (which is actually a bit smaller than the one in the original) in the Naked2 because it is much more convenient to have both brushes needed within the palette rather than only having the shading brush and then hunting around to find your own crease/blending brush. It was also nice to see that instead of including their original Urban Decay Primer Potion they decided to go with the Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Naked because it is always nice to have some variety since they tend to include primer potion in every eyeshadow palette, sometimes you just get sick of having a thousand little travel sizes of primer potion. Going back to the point, the mini Lip Junkie Lip Gloss is a welcome change and this slick gloss earns two thumbs up from me for average wear time of 2-3 hours without eating or drinking and a pretty neutral color that can be worn by anyone.

Now that we finally have the packaging covered, let's get down to the eyeshadows and their new formulation! However, there is something I need to get out of the way before I give you the details on the shadows, what I mean by matte, shimmer, and sparkle.

Matte: No shimmer or glitter, just plain color
Shimmer: Small, but noticeable flecks of glitter
Sparkle: Large, very obvious and noticeable flecks of glitter

All Eyeshadows Left to Right: Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper, Tease,
Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted, and Blackout

Eyeshadows Left to Right: Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper, and Tease
Foxy- Matte creamy yellow that can be used as a highlight shade or used under or over other shades
Half Baked- Shimmery golden color which is great as a lid color or as a highlight/inner-corner color for smokey brown looks
Bootycall- Shimmery warm-pink champagne that is perfect as a highlight shade and inner-corner color for almost any eyeshadow pairing
Chopper- Silver sparkle rusty copper color that works well as a lid color
Tease- Matte pale mauved-brown that looks great when used as a lid color, transition color, or crease color

Eyeshadows Left to Right: Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, and
Verve
Chopper- Silver sparkle rusty copper color that works well as a lid color
Tease- Matte pale mauved-brown that looks great when used as a lid color, transition color, or crease color
Snakebite- Shimmery dark bronze perfect for a lid color in a bronze smokey look or as a crease color or outer corner color in everyday looks
Suspect- Shimmery golden taupe-beige that works nicely as a lid color or highlight for a dark bronze look
Pistol- Perfect light shimmery grey-taupe that can be used as a lid color, crease color, or outer corner color
Verve- Shimmery silver with pink undertones that can be easily used as a highlight/inner corner color

Eyeshadows Left to Right: Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted, and Blackout
Suspect- Shimmery golden taupe-beige that works nicely as a lid color or highlight for a dark bronze look
Pistol- Perfect light shimmery grey-taupe that can be used as a lid color, crease color, or outer corner color
Verve- Shimmery silver with pink undertones that can be easily used as a highlight/inner corner color
YDK- Sparkle cool pink-bronze perfect as a lid color or crease color for lighter looks
Busted- Slightly shimmery deep brown with mauve undertones (similar to Hustle) that works great as a crease and outer corner color
Blackout- Matte saturated true black perfect for a crease color and outer corner color for smoky eyes or if used sparingly can deepen another crease or outer corner color and can even be used with a liner brush to line the upper lashline

Overall I must say that I like the new formulation of these eyeshadows. Urban Decay eyeshadows have always been great quality with a smooth, creamy formula, but these are just a tad bit creamier than before to the touch and the sparkle eyeshadows have much less glittery fallout than the ones created with the old formulation. Thanks to this new formulation, I can actually see myself using the sparkle eyeshadows much more often than I used to. However, I don't really like that they included Half Baked again in this palette because as much as I like the color, I just don't reach for it everyday and I probably won't ever go through both pans of it but, I still find that each of the Naked palettes are great deals, especially this one because it includes all twelve eyeshadows, a mini Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Naked, and a double ended brush, plus a super-sized mirror!

The Stats:
 - Great Quality
 - Made with new reformulated eyeshadows!
 - Great Deal! Just $50 for 12 eyeshadows (each $18 separately), plus a double ended brush and mini Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Naked
 - 5 exclusive shades (Urban Decay recently added these shades to the permanent line except for Bootycall)
 - Travel Friendly!
 - Contains everyday neutrals to dark colors perfect for a smokey eye
 - New Sleek, Durable Packaging
 - Huge mirror that runs the length of the palette

How Much Is My Face Worth?

After seeing quite a few people join in on this tag for a while I just decided, what the heck, why not? because really, sometimes when it comes to makeup we forget how much we spend on each individual product for our faces and this can kind of serve as a reality check as to whether or not I'm spending too much money on makeup, a fair amount, or if I'm a bargainista!

Products I use:
 - $7.59   Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer
 - $10.99 Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam in 110 Porcelain Ivory
 - $2.99   Essence Mattifying Compact Powder in Translucent
 - $23.45 Bloom Cosmetics Sheer Colour Cream in Coy
 - $3.00   NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny
 - $30.00 Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Professional Size in Original
 - $50.00 Urban Decay Naked2 Palette (since I have just got it and usually wear 3+ eyeshadows from it everyday putting the price of the actual palette is less than that of 3 Urban Decay eyeshadow singles)
 - $18.00 Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Naked (to fill in eyebrows)
 - $3.99   Essence I Extreme Volume Mascara
 - $3.00   EOS Lip Sphere in Sweet Mint
(Because my other lip products change up so often, I did not include a lipstick or gloss)

Total: $98.17

______________________________________
Grand Total: $251.18

I think my heart just stopped! To be completely honest I did not expect for my face to be worth over $200! I really had thought before this that the most would be around $135 tops for makeup and worth under $200 total. And to be fair, I tried to only include products here that I use and wear the most often right now (I also included prices of products that have been gifted, even though I myself did not put my own money into buying the product) because many of these products change according to how my skin is reacting that day or how I feel that day, like my choices of foundation, blush, eyeshadows, and lip products, but I did not think that the products I use come to a whopping $251.18!

If you have done this tag, I would love to see how much your face is worth!

Makeup Review: FaceOfAustralia Lip Quench SPF30+

Thanks to Stephanie at Beauty Soiree I got the amazing opportunity to try out some really great products from Australian made brands including these two lipsticks from FaceOfAustralia.

Left to Right: FaceOfAustralia Lip Quench SPF30+ in Malibu Barbie and
Lychee Crush
Having a hectic school schedule during finals and the impeding summer I thought these lipsticks may just be my new favorite lip products just from their name "Lip Quench SPF30+". And these lipsticks do start off quite well on my lips assuming they are freshly exfoliated and moisturized because imfortunately when they are not, these lipsticks have tendency to emphasize any dry cracks on my lips. Otherwise, these lipsticks look super smooth and feel just right on the lips, not too dry or too thick, just right between as a happy medium of lightweight texture, opaque pigmentation, and a silky consistency.

Swatches Left to Right: FaceOfAustralia Mineral Therapy Illuminator in
Angel Blush, Bloom Sheer Colour Cream in Coy, Bloom Liquid Eye Shadow
in Neptune, and FaceOfAustralia Lip Quench SPF30+ in Malibu Barbie and
Lychee Crush each swiped 2 times
However, after a few hours of wear, I feel like these lipsticks actually do the opposite of what they are supposed to, as in instead of quenching my lips, they actually leave my lips a bit drier than when I first put it on. I thought this was strange, but every time without fail when I use this lipstick I find that it really does dry out my lips more and more. Weird how this product would do that, but I suppose the trade-off in this case is extreme pigment. So for those just starting with makeup may want to hold off on the brighter pigmented bullets because just a swipe or two of either shades results in an opaque pout ready for anything, but the brighter colors like Malibu Barbie may be a bit tricky to pull off daily. However, for those with a little more experience in the makeup arena may want to pick up the brighter colors to mix up their daily routine or mix them in with neutrals to create limitless custom colors to specifically fit your skintone or outfit.

The Stats:
 - Has SPF30 in it, perfect for summer!
 - Glides on silky and smooth
 - After a period of time the lipsticks actually start to dry out lips
 - Lips need to be exfoliated and moisturized prior to use to avoid emphasizing cracks and fine lines on the lips
 - Super pigmented!
 - No need for lipliner- these don't fade or feather!
 - Around $9.40 each (US Dollars)
 - Unfortunetly this company does not have a brand store online, however other online retailers such as http://www.fashionaddict.com.au/ stock this brand and ship internationally

AOTD: Crazy For Coral!

Lately I have been obsessing over bright colors for summer, namely coral pinks! I love that a good coral can brighten up an outfit or a makeup look without screaming, "Hey! Look at me!". So I find that when I am looking for a great pop of color for something different I always like to lean on some of these coral colored favorites!

Background: Victoria's Secret Racerback Tank Top
Lower Left to Right: Forever21 8 Piece Hair Claw Set,
O.P.I Nail Laquer in Cajun Shrimp, Korres Lip Butter in
Pomegranate, and Essence Stay With Me Longlasting
Lipgloss in Candy Bar
