Makeup Review: Rimmel London Clean Finish Foundation

I know what you're thinking... "Another foundation? Don't you have enough already?" Well the answer to that question is... Never! For me, foundation is the single most important part of my beauty routine and while some people like to run out and buy all the new lip glosses or eyeshadows, I prefer to put that money towards trying to find my next Holy Grail foundation. With that said, this one is definitely not it!

Rimmel London Clean Finish Foundation in 120 Ivory

After my first try with Rimmel London's Stay Matte, I tried to stay optimistic about their products, especially because I have heard some nice things about this particular formula being their best one yet, and I agree, but it still isn't nearly as good as other drugstore foundations I've tried.

I must admit tho, Rimmel did a much better job this time with the shade range, including both fairly light skintones to medium-dark skintones, but even though this shade (120 Ivory) is lighter than that of the Stay Matte formula, it still isn't light enough for me! Therefore, this one, like the Stay Matte, is going to be reserved for summer until it matches my skin better. However, I did have an okay run with it because unlike the Stay Matte, this thicker, creamier, more forgiving formula blends much, much easier, but still isn't to the blendability that I expect from a Holy Grail foundation. I also find that the 100% poreless claim on the front of the bottle doesn't exactly live up to itself. I do feel as if some of my larger pores do look a bit camouflaged, but it is nothing big enough for me to start jumping up and down about anytime soon.

One of the best things about this foundation is that it has a really unique applicator. I find that the paddle does actually help get the foundation out and serves a purpose in dispensing the product, otherwise I don't think this thick formula would come out of the bottle! However, overall the whole product could have been a bit better than it was in regards to the shade range and the not-so-true claim on the front of the product.

The Stats:
 - Better Shade Range (fairly light to medium/dark)
 - Unique Applicator
 - Thick Formula
 - 100% poreless claim doesn't live up to itself
 - Medium amount of blendability

Have you tried any new drugstore foundations lately?
How did they work out for you?
