AOTD: Wallet Phone Case

(Back Side)
Recently I have been obsessing over my friend's wallet phone case because honestly, I am a practical girl and that type of product is just calling my name!

Front part with phone in (has a plastic covering for the screen)
As a Christmas present, my mother was able to find this one and I am obsessed! I love the whole functionality of it and the fact that the two most important things I need, my wallet and my phone, are always with me! I also like the fact that it is just plain convenient to use when I need to run out the door to go get something from the grocery store or to run errands.

pocket to hold cash)

Ulta Goodies Review!

You may remember that Ulta Goodies post from last month, but if you haven't read it, I will have you know that the amazing associates over at the Fair Lakes Center in Fairfax, Virginia were nice enough to give one of my sisters a few little sample gifts to pass on to me and once again I would like to thank Raquel as well as the Associate Manager, Brianna, for contacting me and the entire staff of the store for making my sister's visit so pleasant. I really enjoyed trying out these products and can not thank you enough!

Here's my thoughts on these products:

Left to Right: Dermatologica Precleanse, Special Cleansing
Gel, Gentle Cream Exfoliant~Bottom: Daily Resurfacer
Daily Resurfacer Finger Mitt
Having heard quite a few good things about Dermatologica, I was super excited to try this out! I love how this mini-regimen was all about cleansing and exfoliation, the two things I find are super important to good skincare! I had never tried out an oil-based makeup remover, and at first was a bit turned off by the oily feeling of the Precleanse, but after using it, the oil went away to leave my skin perfectly clear of makeup, so I would say it is worth the initial turn off due to the great results. I felt like the Special Cleansing Gel sort-of just did its job, it is not fantastic by any means, but definetly not bad. The Gentle Creme Exfoliant was an interesting product, being that it is an exfoliant, but instead of constantly rubbing it onto the skin, it is to be applied in a thin layer and let sit for a period of time. I found this product, like the cleanser, average, but I did notice that the exfoliant did leave my skin a bit smoother than if I hadn't used it. As for the Daily Resurfacer, I noticed even more smoothness than the creme exfoliant and much preferred it, plus, the whole finger-mitt thing was super cute!

juice BEAUTY Green Apple Peel Sensitive
I have only used this one twice so far, and as someone who doesn't have much experience with peels, I can say I think it did a fair job. I did notice that after use, my skin appeared a bit brighter and smoother than before. Plus, the slight apple scent to it is a nice touch.

Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder
I was excited to use this product after picking it up so many times in Ulta, but never being able to justify the price of it for a finishing powder. Now I can totally justify it! I feel like this powder goes on perfectly translucent, no white cast, while diffusing light and smoothing out the appearance of pores and other imperfections. Definetly something I will be picking up in the future!

Ouidad Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel

Let's start off with this statement: I'm a cos girl. If you aren't sure what that means, I will translate it into English for you: I'm a Cosmetology student. And let me tell you, as a student of cosmetology, everyone is looking at your hair! So, for me, making sure my hair isn't a total frizz-ball is of the most importance at times and this has definetly been one of my go to products to keep my mane tamed! Plus, this couldn't have come at a better time because since I got a new hair cut, I have been loving it straight which means a fresh blow-out is required with a flat iron to touch up and all that heat can really damage my hair! However, I feel this product does an amazing job at protecting my hair from the heat and controlling the frizz to leave me with healthy, shiny hair that I can't get enough of!

Thank you once again, to all of the lovely ladies, including Raquel and Brianna, over at the Fairfax, Virginia Fair Lakes Ulta!

Makeup Review: Stila Perfect and Correct

Stila Perfect & Correct Foundation in Fair
I feel like I have been meaning to do this review for two months now and just haven't gotten around to it! But trust me on this, this is definetly a product worth mentioning! It is no secret that I love Stila foundations and when The One Step Makeup got discontinued, I was pretty sad to say the least! But good news is, they came out with the Perfect & Correct formula!

Unboxed; helix design within the bottle
After using the One Step I wasn't sure what to think of this foundation because it is pretty much the same type of product including a foundation and primer in one, but this one has an added moisturizer in it (leading to a natural to slightly dewy finish) instead of producing the powder finish that the One Step creates. This is where I think that Stila should have kept both foundations because the One Step is great for those with normal to oily skin types and the Perfect & Correct is great for those with normal to dry skin types.

The foundations also differ in consistency, One Step being more of a mousse-like foundation while the Perfect & Correct is more of a gel-liquid formula. I also noticed that the packaging of the product has greatly improved! The old One Step bottle was made of clear plastic with silver paint on it that just kind of made it look unfinished, like the packaging was rushed whereas the Perfect and Correct packaging is made of a thicker clear plastic to show case the helix foundation design in the tube with the same air-pump type dispenser.

But enough with comparing! Let's get to how this performs on the skin, shall we? The Perfect and Correct produces a beautifully natural to dewy finish on the skin. It also has buildable coverage so whether I need a few blemishes and spots hidden or not, the coverage can be adjusted to fit my needs just right!

Right- Unblended straight out of the bottle; Left- slightly blended
I also love how no matter how many layers I build up on the skin, this foundation never looks cakey! It always looks natural and luminous, even with a powder on top. Plus, this range comes in 8 shades from fair to deep, so finding a shade to fit isn't hard at all!

The Stats:
 - Easy light to medium buildable coverage
 - Lightweight feel on the skin
 - Primer and Foundation in one!
 - Available in 8 shades
 - Great for normal to dry skin types
 - Points for fabulous packaging!
 - 1 oz. of product
 - Retails at $44.00

Here's To A New Year!

I hope everyone had a very happy holiday season filled with many moments of joy and happiness! I hope yo all had a great year in 2012 and I look forward to a new year with all of you in 2013!

So, did you make any new year's resolutions?
(I will admit it, I never do, because I'm always afraid I won't get them done before the new year, so I prefer to more or less make long-term goals!)

NOTD: Sandy Nude-ity

Lately I have been in the mood for either very dark nail polish, or barely-there nudes and since I just couldn't choose this time, as always, I choose to go all nude with one accent nail of shimmery dark sparkles.

O.P.I Nail Laquer in Saman Sands with O.P.I Nail Laquer in Metallic 4 Life
I have been searching for a true beige nude for a while and I think I just fund it! Samoan Sands is a sandy nude color that goes with any outfit and as an added plus, makes your hands look longer and leaner. And because I am a glitter fanatic, I thought Metallic 4 Life was a necessity in this case to liven up the new-years ready look!

What polish do you have on your tips and toes?

Ulta Goodies!

Long time, no see! As I am sure you are aware, the holidays are a very hectic time and I have not had the time to dedicate to my blog as often as I would like and thank everyone for sticking with me though this rough patch!

To get back in the swing of things I figured I would share some goodies I received from Ulta. Recently, one of my sisters happened to be out and about shopping for gifts and ended up at an Ulta picking up a few things when she ran into an Ulta associate, Raquel, and got to talking about this blog you are reading right now! After my sister had mentioned my blog, Raquel said she happened to keep up on a lot of beauty blogs and offered to give my sister a few little goodies for me to try out. Therefore, I owe a ginormous thank you and a shout-out to Raquel from the Ulta (store number 239) at the Fair Lakes Center in Fairfax, Virginia! As well, I owe a thank you to my sister as well for packaging up these goodies and sending them to me!

Alright, so you may be wondering.... so what did I get? I know, the anticipation is killing me too!
